To spread awareness about the environment and protect it for the next generation we celebrate world environment day on 5 June every year. Many campaigns and events are organized on world environment day to increase awareness about its importance and major steps to improve our environment.
Steps to Protect the Environment
We should start thinking about the root cause of environmental degradation and correcting those things one by one will help us to achieve a clean and healthy environment. I know it wasn’t an easy needle to move but if all of us follow these small things it will definitely improve our environmental health.
- We must follow pollution rules and guidelines suggested by our government strictly.
- The usage of plastic material must be reduced.
- We should save water as much as possible rainwater harvesting would be a great thing to do.
- Planting more trees will help us to improve the oxygen level of the air.
- The emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons should be controlled.
- Animal hunting should be prohibited as it affects the food chain badly.
- We should conserve energy and turn off the electrical appliances if not needed.
- The use of natural resources to generate electricity should be replaced by renewable sources of energy such as Solar energy, Wind energy, Tidal Energy, Geothermal energy, Biomass energy, etc.
- Proper water treatment should be done before dumping waste material into the river water.
- The use of pesticides in agricultural fields must be controlled.
